Model downloaded notification

Right now there's no official way of knowing exactly whether a model or version has or hasn't been downloaded. Many users, such as myself, have thus resorted to using the like button as a form of mark, to avoid downloading duplicates. This obviously muddles the rating of models- when there were stars it wasn't as a big a deal, but now the only rating is the like button.

Any way to add something users can tag, or perhaps automatically notify users both on the model gallery as well as a specific model's page when a model/version has already been downloaded?
